Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American performer and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career performing in musicals including Wicked and Legally Blonde, and Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed directors and actors across stage as well as television. She continues that award-winning work with several upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited show Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently is working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. This is set to be a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place taking place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show is being directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. It's based on the national story of a scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key actors. She starred in two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway credits for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as her role as Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance, she won a Tony Award nomination. She was born and raised in Denver Ashford has now divided the time in Los Angeles and New York.
